From "Build Your Own AI" to "Are We There Yet"
It's been a long road from "Coming Soon" to a new iteration of the prototypical "Panic-2.0" local-only chatbot with SQLite knowledge-base. CHER-1.0 passed the major milestones to become functional at the first benchmark level — built on a ton of Python 3 and SQLite coding by Anthropic's Claude. When Anthropic's growing pains brought things to a screeching halt, Grok and Gemini filled in the gaps.
Anthropic declined a Pentagon contract, choosing to prioritize safety-focused AI development over defense applications. In a space where that line is increasingly blurred, that decision is worth noting.
